These are the steps I followed to do the final task of this course. I hope you enjoy it!
MODULE 5 ACTIVITIES
PLANNING:
I decided to plan
the one week (three hours) digital story telling activity for my 3rd
of ESO students as follows:
DESIGN:
-
I showed them the video I created with Creaza with the
task they had to do. The link to my Creaza is:
-
In that video I asked them to create a collaborative
story from the beginning of the story “A bath in the swimming pool”, from Mr.
Bean. I just let them watch the first 55 seconds from either two of that links I
prepared with two of the apps you taught us to clean or to see a better you
tube version of a video:
Then, they had to
continue the story writing one paragraph for every member of the group with
their own ideas with the following apps: Creaza, Mysimpleshow, GoAnimate or
Paddlet.
IMPLEMENTATION:
The thing is that
at the school we have lots of problems with the computers, as they are quite
old and old-fashioned and our WIFI is not working properly either, that’s why
the results are not going to be as good as they should be.
The first problem
they had was the impossibility of charging the pages such as Mysimpleshow,
Goanimate or Creaza; when such a great quantity of their time had gone by,
they could not charge the images and so on… But some of them saw the problems
in advance and turned into Paddlet which was easier and obviously, with no
images, which meant it was much easier to work with.
These are the two the links of the two paddlets they created:
Even the problems
they had, if we have to talk about their enthusiasm, it was great, their way to
write, great too, speaking in English all the time and a bit frustrated not to
be able to work with the apps I’ve shown them examples of; as I had been showing
them the previous tasks I did in the course about Romeo and Juliet with Go
Animate or My simple show or Creaza.
They enjoyed
doing the activity a lot and when the Kahoot time arrived they thrilled as they
really love Kahoots.
ASSESSMENT:
-
Finally, when they had finished writing the stories, I
showed them their mates’ stories and through a Kahoot they had to mark as if it
was a rubric, bearing in mind the stories originality, correctness, use of
English, apps used, etc.
Again,
we should remember than only 9 students could do the Kahoot because of the bad
WIFI, although they share it and had a great time.
And
this is the Kahoot link if you want to play it:
